The fiesta is celebrated in honor of San Clemente (Pope St. Clement I), the patron saint of fishermen and of Angono. Male devotees carry his statue during a procession. The main event is the magnificent higantes parade of 10- to 12-foot tall paper-mâché puppets. Higantes means “giants.”
